Ophthalmologist Manchester | Dr. Samuel C. Gold, M.D.Samuel C. Gold, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. He is a Cum Laude graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. During medical school, he received the award for scholarship, ability, and compassion for patients. He was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, reserved for the top 10% of the medical school class. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Boston City Hospital and residency in Ophthalmology at Tufts New England Medical Center. This was followed by a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine/Scheie Eye Institute. He has been in solo practice of vitreoretinal surgery in Manchester, New Hampshire since 1988. He performed the first vitrectomy surgery in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Dr. Gold was Chief of the Division of Ophthalmology at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire from 1996 to 2011. He is also clinical instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Gold is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Retina Specialists, New Hampshire Medical Society, and New England Ophthalmological Society.

Dr. Gold is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreoretinal disorders. This includes, but is not limited to, the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vascular disease including branch retinal vein occlusion and central retinal vein occlusion, retinal tears, retinal detachment, macular pucker, macular hole, and retinopathy of prematurity.
